Turning 42: The Answer to Life, the Universe, and Everything
As Douglas Adams famously wrote, 42 is the answer to life, the universe, and everything. Well, today I turn 42, and I can confidently say that while I may have the answer, I still have no idea what the question is.
On this milestone birthday, I find myself reflecting on the whirlwind of a year it's been. It's amazing how much can change in 366 days (don't sleep on leap years). Taking stock of the past year is a powerful exercise in gratitude and perspective, and something I encourage you to do at least annually. So, let me share some highlights:
I took a leap of faith and quit my job at Amazon after 18 years to pursue content creation full-time. It's been equal parts terrifying and exhilarating, and looking back, I probably should have done it sooner.
My wife and I welcomed our second child into the world. Nothing says "I'm ready for a challenge" quite like deciding to juggle a career change and a newborn simultaneously. Sleep is for the weak. I realize now that I'm very, very weak.
