When the pandemic hit, it was challenging for my team in Prime Video's live sports broadcasting organization due to the absence of live sports events.
For the first time in my working life, I found myself with an abundance of free time. In 2021, I launched my YouTube channel, and my first child was conceived and born. Working from home became a silver lining of the pandemic, at least for me.
As sports gradually resumed, I balanced child-rearing duties between meetings. I prepared healthy and delicious lunches for the entire family without having to do so the night before. Surprisingly, I experienced the highest productivity levels of my entire career.
During the pandemic, the major bridge connecting my home to downtown Seattle underwent extensive repairs. What was usually a ten-minute drive became an hour-long journey on surface streets.
