If you want to turn your ideas into reality, you need something else.

You need influence.

But the problem is that “influence” is one of those abstract corporate words everyone uses but nobody defines. We’re told to “build influence without authority,” but we’re never told how. All we get is more corporate speak.

This leads us to chase the wrong things. We mistake having authority for being influential.

Influence isn’t about your title or your spot on the org chart. It’s what happens when people willingly adopt your way of thinking. There are three levels to this, and most people are stuck on Level 1.
