Start Your New Year’s Resolutions Now
Eight years ago, I experienced an epic hangover on New Year's Day. We had gone out to dinner and then hit the town afterward. Being a fan of good champagne and scotch, I indulged in many that New Year's Eve. Due to our excessive drinking, we had to pay an obscene amount for a ride back home. When I awoke the next morning, it felt as if someone had taken a sledgehammer to my head. The dogs needed walking, but all I wanted was to lie in the fetal position. This hangover persisted for the better part of three days.
As I lay in bed, trying every hangover cure to no avail, I resolved never to be hungover on New Year's Day again. The New Year symbolizes fresh beginnings as we emerge from winter (at least in the Northern Hemisphere), and here I was, trapped in a self-created hell.
