We've all done it—daydreamed about how our lives would be different if we could go back in time knowing what we know now.

Here are the things everybody comes up with:

  1. Buy Bitcoin / all the stocks (NVDA / AMZN / AAPL / MSFT etc.) / other investments that blew up

  2. Lottery numbers / placing wagers on sporting events

  3. People and situations to stay away from (ex-partners and accidents)

  4. Advice to yourself to get your head straight

The first two are obvious. You could easily become the richest person in the world many times over. Then the daydreaming shifts towards what you would spend your money on.

The third one, people and situations to stay away from, is also obvious. While the money is about accruing treasure and all the positives that come from that, this one is about avoiding the toxic and negative things in your life that you could do without.

But by far the most interesting one is the fourth. What advice would you give your former self? I think about this a lot.
