Happiness Is Pretty Simple

This will be a relatively brief email as I've just returned from a week-and-a-half vacation in Hawaii. It truly recharged my batteries. I reconnected with family, soaked up some sun, and most importantly, didn't do much of anything at all. I even have metrics to prove it. While I generally avoid technology that interrupts my attention, I recently purchased an Apple Watch and started tracking my sleep and other vitals. During this holiday, I slept an average of 90 minutes more per day, and my resting heart rate has noticeably declined. I had been looking forward to this time off for quite a while.

Rita Mae Brown wrote, "Happiness is pretty simple: someone to love, something to do, something to look forward to." This quote rings true regardless of your age or life circumstances.
