Next year, if your work does not annoy you on some level, you are already obsolete.

AI creates a new kind of filter, one that filters out anyone unwilling to suffer the inconvenience of the real world. We have been conditioned to have everything handed to us, otherwise we won’t bother.

This means that most people will let AI do the easy 80% and convince themselves that the 20% isn’t worth doing, and as a consequence they will become average.

The outliers will embrace the mess that AI cannot solve and reap an outsized reward. It is simple supply and demand: AI creates an infinite supply of the convenient path and when supply goes to infinity, value goes to zero. Simultaneously, the supply of people willing to do the inconvenient work is shrinking.
